Follow this artistI was born and raised in the Central Valley of California. After completing undergraduate work in film at Northwestern University, I moved to Los Angeles to pursue an MFA in painting and digital media at the Claremont Colleges. I spent the following decade exhibiting and working in the fine art community of Southern California. In 2014 I moved to New Orleans to work in the local film industry, and have been a scenic painter on numerous feature films and television shows.
My dense, layered collages are about storytelling as much as formal concerns of color, shape and texture. The work is composed of images from vintage magazines, books and found paper ephemera. These found objects are paired with my hand in drawing and painting, resulting in collage works that tend to be both representational and abstract. I currently live and work in Algiers Point where I enjoy the sounds of the city while being a river width away.
