I'm just going to state the obvious. This pc belongs in the Whitney. There's nothing like it anywhere and it's freaking fabulous! I made this crazy frame with zero idea what was going to happen. The sun in the top left was the first part I filled in. The rest was a month long fight in the jungle. Art can be HARD.
As an aspiring jazz drummer I first moved to New Orleans as a young pup way back in the day. Life had other plans for me however and I moved to LA where I had a long career in the garment industry. You could say I got my art training by osmosis at the 9th St school of fashion. Over the decades I worked with too many extremely talented designers and merchandisers to count. I spent thousands of hours in lavishly appointed showrooms. I had the amazing fortune of being in partnership with two of the most talented designers to ever walk the mean streets of LA, manufacturing under the labels Vertigo and then Mid 60's. I spent many years hustling textiles both as a mill rep and Jobber. Finally, I was a buyer for a 37 store chain which refined my eye to a razor point. In the garment industry, a mistake is almost always costly and painful so if your eye and taste aren't on point you're going to wash out quickly. Well, life goes on and thankfully I found my way back to New Orleans and a second act as an artist.
