My work is an ongoing collection of personal experience, thought, and feeling. Currently, my work focuses on color and shape, while carefully considering the spaces which these objects interact. Much importance is placed upon the relationship between the shape and the color of the shape, in an effort to provoke the viewer. By conducting small color studies in various mediums, I am able to concentrate on the interaction and perception of color.

Goofy, motivated, adventurous 

What do you love the most about creating art in your community? What particular part of your immediate environment, in your neighborhood specifically influences your work?

I love being one small component of the creativity in this city. Walking around the city always evokes inspiration for me through the brightly colored buildings and the many tropical plants.

Describe your creative process. Are there any rituals or rites of passage you exercise before you begin a new piece?

I always start small scale, in my sketchbook. Pencil sketch to colored sketch, then I plan out my color palette and eventually take it large scale onto a canvas. 

Where do you draw inspiration?

Organic shapes, flowers, plants, and the occasional Petri dish image from my doctor friend. 

Who are your artistic influences or gurus?

Helen Frankenthaler, Ellsworth Kelly, and Stuart Davis.

Where can we find you when you are not creating art?

On a walk at City Park or cooking pizza in my backyard.

What is your favorite time of day/day of the week/month of the year?

I absolutely HATE litter.
