My art appears as a journal of personally illustrated characters and symbols guided by intuition. These signs are often the depictions of monsters, machines, nature, home, and self. They evolve and branch from each other like the roots from a tree. The product is a live recording depicting the outward path of a single human spirit. I embrace the coincidence and its endless overlapping of metaphorical connections associated with my reality.

Describe yourself in one word. Gregarious.

What do you love the most about creating art in New Orleans? What particular part of your immediate environment, in your neighborhood specifically influences your work. I like to draw in front of St. Louis Cathedral. It's full of energy.

Describe your creative process. Are there any rituals or rites of passage you exercise before you begin a new piece. I repeatedly use the same line and dot to generate images. I feel not unlike a geographer measuring out a topographical map.

Where do you draw inspiration? Other artists.

Who are your artistic influences or gurus? Peter Voulkos (ceramics), Pieter Bruegel (painting), Albrecht Dürer (printmaking).

In New Orleans, art and music go hand in hand. What type of music, band or song lyric best describes your work. Miles Davis.

Where can we find you when you are not creating art? I don't venture far from the New Orleans School of Glassworks & Printmaking Studio. When I need a break from New Orleans, I spend time in Bay Saint Louis.

What is your favorite time of day/day of the week/month of the year Springtime in New Orleans.

What is something people don’t know about you? A fun fact. I teach ceramics.
