My steel and wire sculptures are 3-dimensional drawings in space. Graceful and whimsical, my lyrical creations capture the subtleties of life and form in a single line.

Over the last 30 years, I've created works for public, private and corporate commissions including Spalding International, Louis Vuitton Asia, Alvin Ailey Dance Company, Abbott Vascular Europe, The Boston Children’s Hospital, The Boston Symphony Celebrity Series and Stanford University.

I live and work in New Orleans and on Martha’s Vineyard. I'm also the artistic director of Orpheus Wines in Sonoma, California.

What do you love the most about creating art in New Orleans? What particular part of your immediate environment, in your neighborhood specifically influences your work?

New Orleans is the most creative and inspiring city in the world. The first time I visited, over 35 years ago, I knew I had found my new home. Thematically, I am inspired by the people, music, food, architecture and general "joie de vivre" of the city. Every day is a visual and sensory feast!

Who are your artistic influences or gurus?

I'm a big fan of Picasso, Matisse, Calder, Schiele. As a teenager, I was fortunate to have lived for a year(and worked as studio assistant) in a tiny French village with 2 amazing artists, Siv Holmes and Ike Muse. Contemporaries and friends of Milton Avery, Rothko and Jackson Pollock.

In New Orleans, art and music go hand in hand. What type of music, band or song lyric best describes your work?

My work is linear. Kinda like a slow jazz groove.

Where can we find you when you are not creating art?

Can't get enough of the music in this town! I love the small clubs and street music.

What is your favorite time of day/day of the week/month of the year?

I love it all.
