In my artistic voyage titled "Exploring the Blues," I venture into a realm of boundless creativity, weaving together the enchanting threads of botanicals, sacred geometry, and hand embroidery. These elements dance in harmony, echoing the spirit of musical improvisation and embodying the mesmerizing rhythms of nature.
Much like a jazz musician's spontaneous expression, my works breathe life into a fluid and interconnected universe, where ideas, past, present, and future, converge like points on a celestial glass globe. Drawing inspiration from John T Scott's profound concept of "jazz thinking" or "spherical thinking," I embrace the notion of being suspended in the heart of this interconnectedness, perceiving the relationship between all things, as if they were notes in an intricate symphony.
"if you can imagine that all your ideas, past, present, and future, are all interconnected like points on a glass globe, and you are suspended in the middle so that if you look up, you understand down because they are connected, and as you move forward you understand backwards because they are always connected. To me that's jazz thinking. It's improvisational thinking in the sense that I don't have to contrive some system of connecting two things that don't seem related because I understand the relationship." -John T Scott.
The botanicals I incorporate are nature's own poetry, capturing the essence of life's ever-changing cadence. With each delicate stroke, I infuse the artwork with the very pulse that unites us with the natural world, inviting viewers to immerse themselves in a profound sense of interconnectedness.
Sacred geometry, with its timeless patterns and symbolic significance, enriches the narrative of my creations. As I carefully integrate these geometric forms, I aim to evoke a sense of cosmic harmony, reminding the observer of the inherent order and balance that permeate the universe.
Hand embroidery, a meditative and contemplative art form, adds a tactile and intimate dimension to the pieces. Like the improvisational notes of a jazz composition, each embroidered line is thoughtfully placed, flowing freely yet guided by an underlying structure, contributing to the visual symphony.
Through "Exploring the Blues," I invite the audience to embark on a transcendent journey of discovery and contemplation. It is an invitation to witness the interplay between artistic spontaneity and the profound interconnectedness of all existence. Just as jazz musicians create soul-stirring melodies through improvisation, I endeavor to compose a visual symphony that resonates with the essence of life itself.
As viewers gaze upon the intertwining elements of my art, may they find themselves immersed in the wondrous tapestry of the universe. May they experience the profound joy of recognizing the relationships that connect all things, past, present, and future, and may they be inspired to embrace the beauty of improvisational thinking in their own creative endeavors and life's journey.
