My love for Photography began in 2006 at Hinds Community College in Raymond, MS. I started with a film camera and a darkroom with chemicals for black and white prints. I moved on to the University of Mississippi and double majored in Philosophy and History. A year after I graduated, I moved to New Orleans in 2013. Through my journey with many different jobs, I kept photography as a hobby and evolved with the digital landscape. I finally found the courage to put myself out there in 2022 and start my photography company, Dustin Hughes Photography LLC. I'm and excited for the growth opportunity that Where Y'art Works offers!

What do you love the most about creating art in your community? What particular part of your immediate environment, in your neighborhood specifically influences your work?

I live in New Orleans because the community. It is my inspiration. There is no other place like New Orleans. I enjoy capturing all of the magical aspects of this city.

Where do you draw inspiration?

I draw inspiration from life. I think to myself how would a scene look if it were a movie.

Where can we find you when you are not creating art?

Volunteering with the Mid-City Rotary Club, working on a coffe table book of the 2025 snow storm set to come out in the fall of 2025, parading, festivaling, or grabbing food/drinks with friends and family.

What is your favorite time the year?

I love Spring and Fall in New Orleans.
