This was fork in the road that led me from denim to mixed media. I made the frame with the intention of doing 3 different things but I didn't know I until I got the denim/fabric aspect done that the other things would be rope and copper wire. The straps are all waistbands and I'm particularly smitten with how the pegs they are fixed on by.

Follow this artistAs an aspiring jazz drummer I first moved to New Orleans as a young pup way back in the day. Life had other plans for me however and I moved to LA where I had a long career in the garment industry. You could say I got my art training by osmosis at the 9th St school of fashion. Over the decades I worked with too many extremely talented designers and merchandisers to count. I spent thousands of hours in lavishly appointed showrooms. I had the amazing fortune of being in partnership with two of the most talented designers to ever walk the mean streets of LA, manufacturing under the labels Vertigo and then Mid 60's. I spent many years hustling textiles both as a mill rep and Jobber. Finally, I was a buyer for a 37 store chain which refined my eye to a razor point. In the garment industry, a mistake is almost always costly and painful so if your eye and taste aren't on point you're going to wash out quickly. Well, life goes on and thankfully I found my way back to New Orleans and a second act as an artist.
