Dropping Off Mrs. Henderson

This piece was for a joint show I did with my husband in 2022 at Bossier Arts Council. The name of the show was Other Realms, and we tried to encompass a variety of different things that could mean. This one was a little more of a literal take on that title with the UFOs in the background, but I like that the viewer can fill in their own details to create their own story with this piece.

I grew up in Natchitoches, Louisiana and am now based out of Shreveport. I'm a lifelong painter. Some of my earliest memories involve being covered head to toe in paint. Every margin of every notebook was filled with doodles in school. I settled on a career as a massage therapist, but the Covid shutdown allowed me to pursue art full time and I haven't looked back. My brain is always 4 or 5 paintings ahead of me. I have had so many exciting opportunities as an artist in Louisiana, and I can't wait to see what's around the next bend in the art road!
