Hand-cut collage using found images from independent fashion magazines, tarot, and nature books.
"I'm gonna see the world through every little heart I know" Lyrics from the song "Every Little Heart" by Tallest Man on Earth
I'm a New Orleans–based artist, and I start each of my vibrant hand-cut collages the same way: I observe. I watch closely, listen intently, and let the piece lead me where it needs to go. Sometimes that journey takes me to a place of whimsy and awe-inspiring beauty. Other times, it brings me into contact with more difficult emotions. Often, it's both.
This way of working makes sense to me — observation has been at the heart of every chapter of my life. I began as a cultural anthropologist and photojournalist, then moved into life coaching and intuitive healing. Across all of these roles, deep listening and careful attention have always been my starting points.
I think of my collages — and the act of creating them — as a place to “put the emotions.” Each piece is a blend of found images from old books or magazines and lyrics from the musical artists who move me most. The results are often inspirational, sometimes unexpected, and always open to interpretation. My hope is that anyone who sees my work feels something uniquely their own.
