I was born and raised in New Orleans, and grew up in the Gentilly area. I am a 3rd generation painting contractor who recently retired. I've painted many houses in New Orleans, especially in Uptown and Old Metairie. I mixed colors and painted faux finishes. After retirement, I wanted to continue doing something creative and decided to start painting on canvas. I love painting - it is very relaxing and I am always happy once I finish a piece.

Describe your art in three words. Unique, Fun, Colorful
Describe yourself in one word. Sensitive
What do you love the most about creating art in New Orleans? What particular part of your immediate environment, in your neighborhood specifically influences your work? I don't have a particular place that influences my work. I draw influence from my thoughts, conversations with people, places I go, music I hear.
Describe your creative process. Are there any rituals or rites of passage you exercise before you begin a new piece? Most days, I like to wake up early in the morning, when it's quiet, make a pot of coffee and sketch. Once I have something that I'm happy with, I put it on canvas.
Where do you draw inspiration? Inspiration comes from my thoughts and music - I love to listen to music when I am creating art
Who are your artistic influences or gurus? Picasso, Chagall, Kandinsky, and my mother, Rosemary Dupre
In New Orleans, art and music go hand in hand. What type of music, band or song lyric best describes your work? I love Brazilian music, reggae, Jimi Hendrix, and George Michael. My wife also makes me listen to Prince.
Where can we find you when you are not creating art? Watching documentaries on Netflix, spending time with my grand-daughter (she likes to paint with me), and spending time with my family.
What is your favorite time of day/day of the week/month of the year? I like early mornings, and summer is my favorite time of year.
What is something people don’t know about you? A fun fact. I love history, especially Greek, Roman, and World War II.
