I have been drawing and painting since an early age. I graduated from Delgado in 2001. I sold art in Pirate's Alley in 2003, and have been exhibiting in art shows around the city for almost two decades, most recently co-curating the 'Top Mob: A History of New Orleans Graffiti' exhibit at the Ogden Museum of Southern Art. My art ranges from graphic design to large scale indoor/outdoor murals, as well as acrylic and mixed media on canvas. I am also proficient with charcoal figure drawings and illustration. Since 2007, I have owned a commercial screen printing and embroidery business in New Orleans. In 2016 I started New Orleans Paint + Design to cater to the growing demand for public and private mural commissions and art installation. I am currently working on the 300 for 300 portrait series for Where Y'art and NOLA.com.

What do you love the most about creating art in New Orleans? What particular part of your immediate environment, in your neighborhood specifically influences your work?
The ghosts of New Orleans keep me inspired, there are always deeper and more intricate stories to be told or unearthed. I'd like to leave behind a story for others to tell.

Describe your creative process. Are there any rituals or rites of passage you exercise before you begin a new piece? I research my subject until I find some underlying meaning or symbol or subliminal feeling that I want to relate to the viewer, and I try and embed that in my image or concept sketch.

Where do you draw inspiration? From the sights and sounds of New Orleans, and the anecdotal histories of the people.

Who are your artistic influences or gurus? I was influenced by Egon Schiele, Alphonse Mucha, Mode2, Mike Giant, Harsh, Bugs, Task, Hiyao Miyazaki, Rob Liefeld, Ralph Waldo Emerson, Emma Goldman, Iceberg Slim, Carlos Castaneda, Bill Watterson.

Where can we find you when you are not creating art? At the R Bar, at the Lake, at the River, across the canal, at Bennachin's.

What is your favorite time of day/day of the week/month of the year? Sunday in Spring

What is something people don’t know about you? A fun fact. I used to rap under the pseudonym Soapbox, I toured with Galactic and won an Offbeat award for best new HipHop record in 2004 for a compilation on Media Darling Records.
