Tree of Life Watercolor series is inspired by Chinese Hand- painted wallpaper from the late 19th century. It was later adorned with a collage of Audubon’s birds combined with leaves, trees, flowers, and pomegranates. As the series progressed, the objects became more abstract as I experimented with various palettes of color and added liquid charcoal for contrast.
Each was created to stand alone on its own or as a set of two or three. All are (22x30”) water media and charcoal on Arches hot press paper.
