Inspired by the dappled light during a sunset this piece is a highly detailed giclée reproduction of the acrylic painting “Beau Chene” by artist Lorin Vieira.

Follow this artistI find that the process of painting is like many things in life. I am very excited in the beginning as the paint or new ideas flow. Next, I go into a messy phase. To me this is one of the longest parts of a painting. It’s a mess and things look off. It’s easy to give up here. But, if I keep pushing through this messy phase, I start to see the painting come together. Bits and pieces working together. Just like life. It seems like a mess sometimes, but when we back away a little (from the canvas or our life) we start to see how it’s working together in a beautiful way. Finally, I get to the end of the painting, where I add the little flourishes or a big bold paint streak. I see the whole picture. I see how the mistakes in the painting added important layers that are built up to the final piece. I see a painting that went through changes - I see myself and our lives as a work of art. Sometimes we are stuck in those messy phases, but we have to remember that the messy layers add to the final masterpiece.
