Inspired by anonymous Kodachrome slides of Louisiana residents, I paint these nostalgic scenes that look like vintage advertisements, but are actually snapshots of everyday life in the mid-20th century. I use vivid colors to mimic the nature of this extraordinary type of film.

I grew up surrounded by cotton fields on Breston Plantation, located in Riverton, Louisiana. I attended Louisiana State University where I received my Bachelor of Fine Arts in Drawing and Painting, graduating Magna cum Laude. I pursued graduate work at Syracuse University, New York, and received my Master of Fine Arts degree from Louisiana Tech University with a concentration in Drawing and Painting. I completed my 200 hour RYT training at Shrimath Yoga (Bihar School) near Bangalore, India. I am also a Usui/ Holy Fire iii Reiki Master Teacher, a Karuna Reiki Master Teacher, an Animal Reiki Master Teacher, and a Professional Member of the International Center for Reiki Training.
I am the sole proprietor of J.Caroline Youngblood Fine Art, LLC. I have been working as a professional artist since 1998, while attending art school at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge. Upon completion of my Master of Fine Arts, I have been devoted full time to creating a business through my talent with studio and galleries in Monroe, Louisiana, and other representation across the southern United States.
